Introductory workshop at the cinema without camera and guided tour of the exhibition

The workshop concern the exploration of film production practices based exclusively on direct intervention on super 8, 16mm and 35mm film.

Using the techniques developed by artists such as Len Lye, Norman McLaren and Stan Brakhage, which are still used by contemporary authors such as the Canadian Steven Woloshen, the Mexican Jorge Lorenzo and Antoni Pinent himself, we will explore the physical processes able to modify the film/celluloid generating new visions and concepts.

Various production techniques of the film will be tested: scratch, collage/décollage, deterioration/aging, atmospheres and textures/treatment alterations-aggressions on the surface, and also manual work on the optical sound.

Participants will also be introduced to the use of projectors (slides, super8 and 16mm) and editing tools (splicers, moviole).

Places are limited (8 - 12 people max)
