Yields of Fray is Frontini’s first exhibition out in Europe following the success of his two exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles.
An exhibition of painting, drawing and sculpture in concurrence with the 61st Venice Biennale by the Los Angeles based artist Leo Frontini. Pulled between our reality and multiple alternate realities he conjures scenes from his imagination that he transfers onto canvas, paper and into marble. These interlinked narratives play out in the exhibition through the space and in and out of media.
These eight paintings, two drawings and three sculptures, accompanied by a poem, were made in 2025 and 2026 in Los Angeles. We see memories, dreams and figures of the subconscious as they grapple through the beautiful, the sublime, the dark and the frightening. As they embody experiences they are also pulled between a prism of perspectives in an interior world.
“Almost on like three levels, there's this, this dynamic of the escape and reality’s intervention. In my practice, in the paintings themselves as they're being made, it's fantasy. Then there's symbolism coming in and references from the present and then for the viewer maybe takes them away from the reality initially but then as they're looking all the elements come in.”– Leo Frontini
