The group exhibition of the eighth edition of We Art Open, the international competition curated by No Title Gallery that aims to promote contemporary art and offer a quality showcase for artists from all over the world, opens to the public from 25 January to 10 February 2025.
Set up for the first time in the space of SPUMA - Venice Art Factory in Venice, the final exhibition is curated by Silvia Previti.
A total of 20 international artists have been selected through an open call by a jury of excellence, composed of Domenico de Chirico, international curator (for the Painting and Graphics section); Albert Wrotnowski, winning artist of We Art Open 24 (for the Sculpture and Installation section), Silvia Previti, curator (for the Photography section); Manuela Lietti, curator and director of Capsule Venice (for the Video, Performance and New Technologies section) and Vincenzo Alessandria, curator of Quadro Zero (for the Hdemia section).
The finalist artists are: Daniele Antoniazzi, Carmine Bellucci, Eleonora Rinaldi, Jacopo Zambello, Kuangyi Lu, Lena Shaposhnikova, Rovers Malaj, and Simone Miccichè for the Painting and Graphics Section; Elia Brignoli, Pei Shan Lee and Silvia Gelli for the Photography Section; Simone Rutigliano, Rebecca Zen and Massimo Pugliese for the HDEMIA Section; Federica Sutti, Gianna Parisse, Marco Chiazzolino for the Sculpture and Installation Section; Enrico Antonello, Tsamani Tovar Nino and Valentina Gelain for the Video, Performance and New Technologies Section.
During the opening event, to be held on 25 January at 6 pm, the winners of the prizes in each section will also be announced.
On 25 January at 5 pm, the opening will be preceded by the English-language talk Seagulls, Screams & Artificial Art: Exploring Synthetic Frameworks In Presenting and Creating Art, curated by the international contemporary art magazine art-frame. Together with Manuela Lietti (Capsule Venice), Vincenzo Alessandria (Quadro Zero), Luca Berta (Venice Art Factory) curator Silvia Previti and artist Albert Wrotnowski, in conversation with art-frame's artistic director Herwig Egon Casadoro-Kopp, the relationship between the art market and artists' experiments with technology will be explored.
