Over the past few years, the German conceptual artist Niclas Castello has devoted himself intensively to Dante Alighieri’s *Divine Comedy*. The result is over 220 drawings, some of them highly personal, which bring the 14th-century Italian epic poem into the present day. Castello does not shy away from commenting on current events in a pointed and self-deprecating manner.
