Venice Art Factory, in collaboration with Contemporis ETS, is pleased to present Corpo Unico, a solo exhibition by Alessandro Rudello curated by Vincenzo Alessandria.

The exhibition brings together a body of works in paint and on paper in which the human body — the sole irrefutable form of the human being — becomes Rudello’s primary field of inquiry.

The works on display — large drawings on assembled sheets, oil and acrylic paintings on canvas and paper — share a common theme of extreme nudity. In Corpo Unico, this nudity is never displayed: rather, it is the structural condition of the image itself. The body contracts, wraps itself around itself, hides the face or offers it in a state of disarray. The line is the last remnant of a gesture that could have erased everything.

The context of Giudecca — an island suspended between the lagoon and the city, a place of margins and thresholds — amplifies the tension between presence and absence, which aligns perfectly with Rudello’s artistic exploration. SPUMA – Space for the Arts, with its vocation to host radical and uncompromising artistic practices, offers these works the right setting: spaces that do not overwhelm but accompany, that leave the painted body the silence it needs.
