The solo exhibition of artist Silvano Rubino "Up- Down: Sacra Conversazione" in the house of Piero della Francesca, home of the Foundation of the same name, from 7 October 2023 to 7 January 2024, is curated by Cristina Tonini.
Organised by the Fondazione Piero della Francesca with the collaboration of the Fondazione Cini- Istituto di Storia dell'Arte, the Associazione Contemporis ETS - Contemporary Culture in Venice, the Associazione DiVetro Sansepolcro and the Pentagram Stiftung.
VeniceArtFactory is glad to support the new project of a Venetian artist friend, Silvano Rubino.
The exhibition was conceived as Rubino's homage to the work of Piero della Francesca and in particular to the Pala Montefeltro or Brera Altarpiece (1472). The "Sacra Conversazione" (Sacred Conversation) is constructed on the basis of a geometric-mathematical canon, the central perspective. The vanishing point is coincident in the perfect oval of the Virgin. Above her is the egg, symbol of the cycle of life, rebirth and perfection. The figures in their fixity, in the absence of palpable emotions, communicate a sense of temporal suspension that characterises the entire composition.
The show is open from 7 October 2023 to 7 January 2024, with the following opening times: Thursday and Friday 10am-1pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-1pm, 3pm-5pm.
During the weekends of All Saints' Day, 8 December and Christmas holidays, opening hours may be subject to change. Closed on 25 December 2023.
