We are pleased to invite you to join us on the finissage of "Motion of a Nation". An invitation to (re)visit the exhibition, gather in conversation, and take part in Defenatio in an atmosphere of shared presence and quiet reflection. A moment to pause, connect, and close together.


After several months of exploration, Motion of a Nation comes to a close with a final moment of reflection. The exhibition concludes with the performative intervention Defenatio (2025) by artist Gaston Ramirez Feltrin.

Defenatio invites participants to consume foods shaped like national, nationalist, and institutional symbols. Presented as part of a reception, the act becomes a powerful gesture — a reflection on how the symbols that shape our identities are absorbed, internalized, and ultimately expelled. What nourishes us also conditions us, even as we attempt to release it.

In a time when the idea of “nation” is both inherited and constructed, imposed and intimately personal, this closing performance offers a meditation through body, memory, and metaphor — at once subtle and striking.
