In collaboration with Vanya Balogh and Mingardo, VeniceArtFactory presents 23.03, the third edition in a series based on the concept of the square4, involving four European cities of familiar accord. 23.03 is the third edition of the series. Previous exhibitions were held in Zagreb (23.04) and London (23.02). The concluding exhibition will take place in Berlin (23.01). 

Vanya Balogh Zagreb, Croatia

Balogh is an artist and independent curator currently living and working between the cities of London, Berlin, and Venice. He has studied at Central St Martins and Regents College of Psychotherapy and Counselling. His diverse artistic output encompasses a range of mediums such as film, sound, and photography, resulting in a multifaceted body of work with an interdisciplinary focus. Balogh worked as a contributor and stylist with the cult magazine I-D for over a decade whilst simultaneously curating and producing music for his underground electronic record label Killout Rec. His work has been exhibited internationally including the Tate Modern in London, Loop Barcelona, and at the Venice Biennale. Balogh’s work is often defined by high intensity large-scale pieces designed for alternative spaces, which explore the realm between commerce and art. Most notably is the recent series of group exhibitions in a West End car park in London. His annual curatorial project BIG DEAL is entering its 9th anniversary and has featured over 400 international artists to date. Balogh is currently working on several book volumes due for launch in 2017.
