ANIMA RUSSIA  // TATYANA DANILYANTS

In association with Venice Projects.

February 2015

Anima Russia by Tatyana Danilyants.

The exhibition presented the painter’s notion of modern-day Russia and the citizens through one of the favorite “objects” of her childhood-candy as the artist invites the viewer to reinterpret national culture. The traditional Russian candy, which reminds one of the traditions in the eternal poems and fairy tales, are presented in the form of photos and art-objects molded from the glass of Murano. The sculptures of candies created at Murano Island have become a unique bridge between the Russian and Italian cultures.

VeniceArtFactory joined Tatyana in the furnace helping her develop the glass + fabric project about the Armenian film maker and artist Sergei Parajanov.
